Manuel Marquez Choose David Diaz for a Tune-Up this July

Juan Manuel Marquez is very determined to face his rival Manny Pacquiao on November 12, 2011 but he said that before the big day Pacquiao vs Marquez fight, he wants to have a tune-up fight. He is looking for a tune-up partner that is close to the fighting style of the Filipino champ Manny Pacquiao and he is eyeing to his fellow Mexican lightweight David Diaz.

According to Juan Manuel Marquez, Diaz is a good choice and an ideal tuneup for the upcoming fight this November. David Diaz has lost to Manny Pacquiao via TKO in 2008 at the Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas, Nevada. But still Manuel Marquez wants David Diaz to be his tuneup partner because diaz is a southpaw like Manny Pacquiao. Diaz is also familiar with Manny Pacquiao’s boxing style. Diaz also knows the strengths and weaknesses of the Filipino champ.

Boxing analysts are saying that fighting David diaz is a bad one for Manuel Marquez because he is risking hi opportunity to face the Filipino champ in a trilogy on November. It could upset everything. David Diaz could give Marquez a very bad cut in their fight and could can cause the cancellation of the November fight with Manny Pacquiao.

Many boxing fans are very concerned about Marquez’s fight against Diaz. The fans even suggest that if he could pay David Diaz to become his sparring partner at a very reasonable amount so that it could not jeopardize the November 12, 2011 fight agains Manny Pacquiao. The boxing fans has waited for a long time on the Pacquiao vs Marquez trilogy.

The fight contract, which was earlier signed by Marquez, reportedly allowed him to have a tuneup fight before the November schedule.

“He’s going to do that fight,” Top Rank promoter Bob Arum told ESPN.com, “and if he loses, he’s out.”
